Running For Future
We, Parents and Fridays For Future Italy, are aware of the climate emergency. We act in order to draw the attention of our governments, to the will of the people, so that they take action and address this crisis.
The voice of people from around the world must be heard by all the politicians that meet at the Pre-COP26 in Milan (September 30th – October 2nd) and at the subsequent COP26 – the latter, co-organized by the UK and Italy – in Glasgow (1 – 12 November).
“Running For Future” is a cycling relay race that will involve 20 Italian municipalities along the scenic Via Francigena and many cycling associations that enthusiastically support this this event. Each stop of this relay is associated with a theme (or dot). These are only some of the many themes in our lives that we need to take care of, as they are all interconnected.
The hashtag #connectthedots is one of the key phrases of the September 24th, 2021 Global Strike and for Running For Future, the road symbolically connects a few dots.
The relay begins in Rome during on the day of the Global Strike (September 24th) and will end in Milan (October 2nd) during the Pre-COP26.
The event will be broadcasted in live streaming on the social media and on the website of Parents and Fridays For Future Italia.
The goal is to bring public awareness to the existence of the Pre-COP26 event while pointing out the beauty of the landscape along the Via Francigena, a symbol of the life and beauty we all must tend to.
Time is running out! Which is the second goal of the relay: creating awareness by using a Climate Clock as the baton that is passed from biker to biker in the race.
The Climate Clock is the clock that marks the countdown of just under 6 years, the time left we have to act before the climate crisis reaches a point of no return. It is synchronized with the latest updates of the IPCC report of August 9, 2021, in which the situation of our planet was described, for the first time, in the alarming tone of a CODE RED situation.
“Running for Future” connects the events of the Global Strike Day with Pre-Cop26 and pushes for decisive action at the COP26. We need global outcry! Race, political affinity, social status or religious beliefs are of no significance. We are heading towards self-destruction and only together can we make a difference!

Noi, Parents e Fridays For Future Italia, siamo consapevoli dell’emergenza climatica in corso, pertanto, vogliamo richiamare l’attenzione dei governanti e delle persone per poter intervenire efficacemente a sostegno del pianeta.
La voce delle persone di tutto il mondo deve essere ascoltata da quei politici che si incontreranno alla Pre-COP26 di Milano (30 settembre – 2 ottobre) e alla COP26 – quest’ultimo evento è co-organizzato da Regno Unito e Italia – a Glasgow (1 – 12 novembre).
“Running For Future” è una staffetta ciclistica che coinvolgerà 20 comuni italiani lungo la Via Francigena e molte associazioni ciclistiche che sostengono con entusiasmo questo evento.
Ad ogni tappa è associato un tema (o dot). Sono soltanto alcuni dei tanti temi della nostra vita di cui dobbiamo prenderci cura, poiché sono tutti interconnessi tra loro.
L’hashtag #connectthedots è una delle frasi chiave del Global Strike del 24 settembre 2021 e per la Running For Future, la strada unisce simbolicamente alcuni dots.
La staffetta prenderà il via a Roma in occasione del Global Strike (24 settembre) e si concluderà a Milano (2 ottobre) durante la Pre-COP26.
Trasmetteremo l’evento in diretta streaming sui social media e sul sito web di Parents e Fridays For Future Italia.
L’obiettivo è sensibilizzare tutti sull’esistenza della Pre-COP26 e promuovere la bellezza del paesaggio italiano attraversato dalla Via Francigena, il simbolo di quella bellezza di cui tutti dobbiamo aver cura.
Il tempo sta per scadere! e questo è il secondo obiettivo della staffetta: divulgare, usandolo come testimone da passare tra gli staffettisti, il Climate Clock.
Il Climate Clock è l’orologio che segna il countdown di poco meno di 6 anni che è il tempo restante a nostra disposizione per fare qualcosa, affinché la situazione climatica raggiunga un punto di non ritorno. È sincronizzato con gli ultimi aggiornamenti del rapporto IPCC del 9 agosto 2021, in cui la situazione del nostro pianeta è stata descritta per la prima volta con toni allarmanti come una situazione da CODICE ROSSO
“Running for Future” collega gli eventi del Global Strike Day con il Pre-Cop26 e si spinge oltre verso la COP26. Abbiamo bisogno di un grido globale. Il colore della pelle, l’affinità politica, lo stato sociale o le credenze religiose non contano. Stiamo andando verso l’autodistruzione e solo insieme possiamo fare la differenza!
